Conclusions:  The above products are designed as front and rear wash products. (Compare The Simmons Home & Away Bidet at $89.90).
(1) None of the above are portable for travel.  (2) The least expensive products (Exh A & H) offering a warm water version is $100 to $200.00
more expensive than The Home & Away Bidet.  (3) All are designed for attachment to the toilet plumbing, which, not only is more complicated to attach than the Simmons’ products, but if not properly affixed by the consumer, could result in drastic leakage and damage to property because, unlike the Simmons’ products, the above are designed to constantly remain under full water pressure.

12 Various Models

$314 - $399
Plus cost of installation

Require room to install in bathroom. Must be installed by plumber. Cannot install if floor concrete. Not portable.

Conclusions:  The standard bidet delivers the same benefits as the Simmons’ products. If there is room in the bathroom to install and if the floor is not concrete (or for new construction)  the cost for the above products, including installation, could range from $500 - $700.

LUXE BIDET

$70 - $100

Attached to toilet plumbing (for warm water, extra service line to underneath sink is required). Not portable.

Conclusions:  The above product is designed  for rear wash. (Compare The Simmons Butty System at $59.90). (1) The LUXE BIDET is not portable for travel.  (2) The LUXE requires warm supply line from under sink  -  if available and accessible.  (3)  The product is $10 to $40 more expensive than The Butty System  (3) LUXE  BIDET is designed for attachment to the toilet plumbing for cold water use and under sink plumbing for warm water use, which, not only is more complicated to attach than the Simmon’ products, but if not properly affixed by the consumer, could result in drastic leakage and damage to property because, unlike the Simmons’ products, the above are designed to constantly remain under full water pressure.

MINI SHOWER

$45 - $90

Attaches to toilet plumbing (or quick sink faucet disconnect, similar to Simmons' products). Product is limited to female hygiene purposes. Is portable.

Conclusions:  The above product is designed for front (female) wash. (Compare Simmons’ For Ladies Only at $39.95). While the product is very similar to the Simmons product, and is $5 to $50 more expensive, it is primarily being marketed by CoolCraft, Inc,as a baby diaper washing device (to be used over the toilet) and dog washer (for use in the shower).  The Simmons’ product can also be marketed for the same type of uses.  The shower connection is not required with the Simmons’ product because it comes with a 12’ hose (use it over toilet or in the shower), while the CoolCraft product comes only with a 6’ hose.  The CoolCraft product is not patented.

SANICARE

440

Product advertised to act as a bidet, but testing shows that it is inconvenient to use and results in inadequate cleansing (reservoir too small for complete cleansing).

Conclusions:  The above product is designed for multi-use wash. Sanitizing and refilling is an inconvenient and sometimes messy procedure.  The portable Simmons products are far superior.

Note 1:    Most of the above products (notable exception: Pilot Bidet) are not fitted with proper back flow prevention valves.  Approved back flow prevention valves or other methods are required by every health department to avoid bacteriological contamination of the public water supply.  Simmons’ products avoid this problem altogether by not remaining connected to pressurized water system when not in use.

Note 2:  Approximately 30 products are outlined above (more specific details are in the Exhibits attached).  These 30 products, by no means constitutes a complete list of standard and attachment-type bidet products available on the market.  They are, however, deemed to be very typical of the various products which are offered in stores and on line.  The above products prominently appeared on line upon internet (Google) search queries using the key word phrases “Bidet”, Bidet Attachments”  Bidet Parts” “Bidet Toilets”  “Toilet Conversion”.
